JENS KORNDÖRFER: Germany, November 1, 1978
Jens Korndörfer, born in Zwiesel, completed his studies in Bayreuth, Germany, and at the Paris Conservatory - where he took organ classes with Olivier Latry - with the highest grades. In September 2005 he became the first German ever to be appointed organist in residence at the 'Kitara' concert hall in Sapporo, Japan. He also performed at other major venues in Japan, including Suntory Hall and Metropolitan Art Space in Tokyo and the Concert Hall in Kyoto. Since September 2007 Jens continues his studies at the Oberlin Conservatory under the direction of James David Christie. Recital engagements in 2008 include Westminster Abbey in London, Church of the Madeleine in Paris, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and a CD recording in the Harmony Hall in Fukui, Japan.
