ELS BIESEMANS: Belgium, December 23, 1978

Els Biesemans, born in Anvers, Belgium, has studied organ, piano and chamber music at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. From there she earned her Master of Music degree with Highest Distinction in organ and piano. She has continued her training independently, taking part in many master classes in Europe. Els has won national and international awards, most recently First Prize in Vilnius, Second Prize in Tokyo and Third Prize in Paris and Prague. Her first CD, Symphonic organ music from Brussels and Paris, recorded on the Van Bever organ of the Dominican church in Brussels, was published on the Et'cetera label in January 2006. Since April of 2006, she's the principal organist at Maria Krönung Church in Zürich.
